Steve Sidelnyk

A drummer, percussionist, programmer and producer of Ukrainian heritage, Steve Sidelnyk’s career CV is as extraordinary as it is varied — creating music and performing live with Madonna, Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Dido, The Blow Monkeys, Richard Ashcroft, R.E.M., Seal, The Rolling Stones, David Gray, Tina Turner, Stone Foundation and many more.

His story runs from joining Tracie Young’s Soul Squad to playing with The Style Council on tour, on record, at Live Aid and around the world — earning him Honorary Councillor status in the Weller alumni circle that forms so much of the Monks Road Records family. He is the rhythmic glue between the generations — equally at home in a room with the architects of British soul as he is with its current standard-bearers.

On the debut Monks Road Social album Down The Willows, Sidelnyk plays percussion alongside Mick Talbot, Crispin Taylor, Matt Deighton and Steve White. He returns for Rise Up Singing!, further cementing his place as one of the most trusted musicians in the collective’s house band.
