Leah Weller

Leah Weller is a London-born singer, songwriter, model and DJ — the daughter of Paul Weller and Dee C. Lee of The Style Council, which means she grew up with some of the finest British soul music ever made happening, quite literally, in the next room. She has spoken about carrying the weight of that musical heritage with great honesty, and her debut album Freedom — released in October 2022 and produced by Steve Cradock of Ocean Colour Scene and Paul Weller’s band — is the sound of an artist who has found her own voice entirely on her own terms.

Her sound draws on neo-soul, R&B and atmospheric pop, shaped by a musical knowledge and instinct that is impossible to fake. She performed at the 100 Club in London ahead of the album’s release to a reception that made clear this was no famous-name side project but a genuine and fully realised artistic statement.

She features on the Monks Road Social album Rise Up Singing! on the closing track “Easy Pickings” alongside Brazilian artist Arthur Melo — a record that is, as Dr Robert once described it, a proper friends and family affair. Leah Weller is very much family.
